Question

So, I recently had a post about being a young father.

I just wanted to thank you all for the wonderful response to that post.

It meant a lot and I can't stress that enough. In light of all this though, as much as I love my daughter, I will not lie and say I've had no issues with her choices in men.

Her latest boyfriend is some guy she met online. And ever since she's been 'seeing' him, (Don't even know how that works) I've just seen her total attitude change. I hate to see her sad over a guy.

I have been trying to uproot her boyfriend with other nice guys at my work and I know it's messed up. But I just don't see any other options. This guy is not good for her.

Any advice? I don't want to control her life but I just know this guy is not good for her.

    Let her be, Tim! Sometimes the heart wants what it wants. I had a similar issue with my young one but now she's married to the ogre. Haha! Joking, but seriously, embrace the ones she loves! Because you can change a lot of things but what your heart wants isn't one of them.

      Hey Tim, I think what matters is whether the boy loves her or not...the fact that she is sad coz of him then here's something u should know...u cant eliminate all the sadness from her life no matter how much u try...she would be sad at some point in her life evn if u find a perfect guy for her...coz if there's no pain in love there's no love at all. So make sure you know how the guy feels about her...and the rest it won't be something she can't handle.

    I think trying to "replace" him with another guy probably won't work and is a bad approach. If you're worried that it's an emotionally abusive relationship, "Why Does He Do That" is a good book exploring the dynamics of abuse and has helped lots of people get out of abusive relationships. Otherwise, she's an adult and you have to let her make her own decisions. Hope that helps.
